Kate is remarkable – the kind of individual you'd give anything to have on your team. Yet there's so many more folks behind the scenes who have come together to create the products, stage the launch and put together this amazing 30 days.

We're fortunate as a small company to have very close relationships within the team. Kate's Dad Rich, for instance, has been driving the Heathrow suitcase project since its inception.

Rich, it would be fair to say, is relentless. Bringing Heathrow to fruition - with the Extreme charger on board - is several years of work and thousands of small details.

Something we've discovered along the way is why only a few products feel really great to own.

The reason?

It's because it's 10x harder to make a product where you care about all the details, so most companies don't bother.

Most products today are just assembled from pre-existing parts. That makes a lot of sense because component development is slow and expensive (we learned this the hard way!) And once it's done the parts cost more because you're not sharing a long production run with other brands.

But to make an amazing product you have to put a LOT of love into the details that make your design different - otherwise, why bother?
